The urine absorbent material is synthesized from carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) derived from water hyacinth and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) using the freeze–thaw technique. It detects ketone levels in urine by adding a sodium nitroprusside solution and is designed for use with a portable urine bag. It is biodegradable, environmentally safe, and offers an innovative alternative absorbent material.
